Cornwall part 2

Last weekend the Other Half and I drove down to Cornwall on Friday evening. I am originally from a town called Falmouth and a visit back home was long overdue.

I wanted the Other Half to meet some more of my family & friends and luckily we picked the most Summery weekend to do it in

Here are a few pictures to give you a glimpse into our seaside weekend

7am sun to greet us on our early morning dog walk

The view from our back field - those clouds soon disappeared!

Boycie the dog telling me to "Hurry Up!"

My view from the pub - the boys were watching rugby

Falmouth Docks - we always used to stop for an ice-cream here!

Sunday lunch in a Country Garden has to start with...

Strawberries and Champagne...

and a photo bombing Labrador!

We spent Saturday in Falmouth and walked all around the headland and along the beachfront. I think I deserved the fishcakes that I ordered for lunch from the Gyllyngvase Beach CafĂ©. The Other Half has a smoked mackerel sandwich that was almost too big for him to finish!

After an afternoon snooze we had a lovely dinner with my uncle in a local seafood restaurant called HunkyDory...it was only once we ordered that I realised I had never eaten Hake...it was lovely though. We slowly wound our way home through the main street, stopping at the occasional bar for a refreshment.

On Sunday we drove out to my Step Mother's house to raid her fruit & veggie plot and she had laid on an amazing spread of roast beef, salads & potato pie. Friends joined us while we cooked ourselves in the garden, as we watch Andy Murray do his thing on centre court. Fatter and more relaxed than when we arrived we dragged ourselves away to make the drive home.

What would you do with a weekend in Cornwall?
