About Me

Hi, welcome to my blog Time to be an Adult!
My name is Carrie, I'm in my mid-thirties and I live on the coast in Hampshire, UK with my boyfriend Sion (pronounced Shaun rather than rhyming with Lion!). We have recently moved into a beautiful traditional terraced house with a garden that's desperate for attention and a spare room that is a nursery in waiting.

I started this blog in March 2013 as a way to record the changes in my life as we moved in together and realised we were proper grown ups! My very first post was all about the realisation that I enjoyed choosing a wardrobe more than choosing where to have our next night out!

I have a love of good, traditional food and have been lucky to eat in some wonderful restaurants, such as Dinner, The Hand & Flowers and Kensington Roof Gardens. This has inspired me to be more adventurous with my own home cooking and this blog is a place to record my favourite recipes on my Time to be...in the Kitchen page. You will find both sweet and savoury dishes there, along with food related reviews and tales.

As part of our journey together we made the decision to start trying for a child, sadly we had two miscarriages in January 2014 & June 2015 and I have been confirmed as having a bi-cornate uterus, meaning that my uterus is "Y" shaped rather than "O". Happily though we have been blessed with a third pregancy and I am due to deliver our much longed for baby in June 2016.

We try to get in as many little adventures as we can outside of our full time jobs and have visited some beautiful places both in the UK and overseas. Wales has captured our heart and we are planning more visits there later this year. I originally grew up in Cornwall and moved to Hampshire 8 years ago. My family home is still in Cornwall and I visit a few times a year to get a dose of relaxation. We also have family in Northampton and Wales so you will often find me posting about trips out or restaurants we have tried in these areas in Time to be...on Holiday

I work full time as a Company Accountant so this blog is a way of exploring my more creative side with plenty of photographs. I tend not to post to a set schedule, more as inspiration strikes, however I aim to post at least one food and one lifestyle post per week. I also like to join in each week with a number of link ups such as PoCoLo, Tried & Tested and Magic Moments  - they are a brilliant way of finding new blogs and engaging with lots of brilliant bloggers.

I love: Pizza, bread, being near water, being outdoors, getting muddy in the garden, crocheting and making cakes.

I don't love: Blue cheese, birds, touching wet hair (don't judge me!), coffee

I am a PR friendly blogger and would welcome opportunities to work with brands that engage me and work well both within my blog and day to day life. We now have a light and spacious home, with a well used kitchen and a garden that's got a life of it's own, so there's plenty of opportunities. I like to put my own personal style of writing into every post so I'm afraid sponsored posts and pre-written posts don't interest me.

I've been incredibly lucky to work with some brilliant brands such as Hotpoint, BRITA, HomeSense, Sticky Mix, BelVita and BISSELL and would love to work with more food, home & travel brands.

Any reviews of products provided for me or sponsored posts will clearly be marked as such, although all opinions will remain my own.

As well as writing this blog I also have profiles on Twitter, Instagram, Facebook and Google + that keep me distracted, amused and enlightened every day! I am lucky to have over 900 followers across these platforms and I try to post something every day...even if it's just a quick hello!

Thank you for popping over, hopefully my writing will entertain and possibly inform you. If you would like to get in touch, please email me on calanderyou@gmail.com, all other contact details are all listed on my Contacts page.

Toodle pip!
